The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has released PHP 2 billion in claims to accredited public and private health facilities in Region 2, ensuring continued delivery of healthcare services to its members.
PhilHealth Regional Vice President Llewellyn R. Binasoy reported that claims were processed with an average turnaround time of 22 days, significantly faster than the 60-day legal limit. This efficiency enables healthcare providers to sustain operations and deliver uninterrupted services.
Binasoy noted that two percent of the claims were returned for compliance due to discrepancies, while three percent were denied for non-compliance with PhilHealth policies. To address such concerns, PhilHealth launched the “Oplan Engage and Reconcile” program, which successfully resolved all claims-related queries from healthcare facilities.
Healthcare providers now have access to real-time updates on the status of their claims, with Binasoy citing positive feedback regarding the improved transparency and communication process.
In recognition of its performance, PhilHealth Region 2 received a 98.86 percent satisfaction rating in the May 2024 Client Awareness and Satisfaction Survey conducted by NOVOTRENDS, in line with the Government Commission for GOCCs’ requirements.
PhilHealth Region 2 also demonstrated strong adherence to the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) standards, achieving a 99.32 percent compliance rating in AREA 1, which covers Regions 1, 2, 3, and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
“PhilHealth remains committed to advancing the country’s Health Care Agenda, focusing on efficient service delivery and strong support for both members and accredited healthcare providers,” Binasoy said.
