PCG intensifies search for missing PH cargo ship

By Matthew Go

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has intensified its search for the MV Sta. Monica-A1, a cargo vessel that disappeared over a week ago with ten crew members aboard.

The ship went missing on October 27 while attempting to shelter from strong typhoons that battered the region. Since then, search teams, assisted by local fishermen, have combed nearby waters for signs of the vessel.

Recent findings include debris and a life jacket identified as belonging to the ship, along with reported sightings of floating bodies. The PCG continues its search efforts under challenging weather conditions as families of the crew anxiously await updates.
