Pasay City LGU kicks off own Children’s month observance

The Pasay City LGU officially launched Children’s Month on November 6, 2024, with a ceremony held at the Entertainment Hall of the SM Mall of Asia. The event was led by Pasay Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, who emphasized the city’s “dedication to supporting its young residents.” In her address, Mayor Calixto-Rubiano highlighted the city’s efforts to “provide children with a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring their well-being and future success.”

As part of the celebration, the Mayor conducted a storytelling session, sharing the story of “Emily, the Safe and Protected Child.” The session underscored how children, like Emily, can “thrive in a secure environment with the collective efforts of parents, teachers, and local officials.”

The event was aligned with the national theme for Children’s Month, which focuses on breaking the prevalence of violence against children and creating a safer Philippines. Throughout November, various activities will take place to further promote the protection of children in the community.

Aside from the storytelling session, Mayor Calixto-Rubiano, along with Pasay Lone District Representative Antonino Calixto, Councilor Joey Isidro, and Luigi Rubiano, distributed toys and food packs to the children who attended the event.
