Parañaque City recognized as top performer for solid waste management

On December 19, the City Government of Parañaque was awarded a Certificate of Recognition at the 4th Consultative Meeting of the Metro Manila Solid Waste Management Board – Technical Working Group (MMSWMB-TWG).

The recognition, presented at the Verjandel Hotel in Quezon City, was received by Mr. Mark Allen E. Besa, Officer-in-Charge of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), on behalf of Mayor Eric Olivarez.

Parañaque City was named the Top Performing Local Government Unit in Metro Manila for its solid waste management initiatives in 2024. The award highlighted the city’s “efficient waste disposal practices, surpassing annual targets, and its strategic implementation of environmental management strategies” validated by the 2024 Environmental Compliance Audit.

Mayor Olivarez commended the CENRO team and other city officials for their “dedication, emphasizing that the recognition reflects Parañaque’s commitment to sustainable and environmentally conscious governance.”
