The One Pangasinan Transport Federation (OPTF) is anticipating fuel subsidies from the government due to the ongoing rise in oil prices.
OPTF President Bernard Tuliao said that drivers are currently awaiting the distribution schedule, while local government units are compiling lists of qualified beneficiaries.
In Dagupan City, the list has already been submitted to the Public Order and Safety Office. The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is requiring complete rosters from transport groups.
March 17 was the deadline for submitting these lists, prompting Tuliao to encourage drivers to coordinate with their respective chairpersons to ensure their inclusion in the subsidy list.
Tuliao also clarified that their group opted not to participate in the planned transport strike this Thursday, citing concerns over the ongoing global situation, including tensions in the Middle East, which could further impact the economy.
He warned that a transport strike amidst the current crisis could worsen conditions for both the public and the transport sector.
