PAGASA Forecasts 3 to 5 Tropical Cyclones From October 2026 to March 2027

PAGASA is monitoring the possibility of three to five tropical cyclones developing inside or entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility from October 2026 to March 2027.

According to the weather bureau’s outlook, the country may still see one to two tropical cyclones per month from October to December, keeping the final quarter of the year under close watch for possible storms, heavy rains, and weather-related disruptions.

The cyclone threat is expected to ease at the start of 2027, with PAGASA forecasting up to one tropical cyclone in January. By February and March, the chance of a cyclone entering or forming inside PAR is considered slim.

The advisory gives local governments, disaster offices, and communities a wider planning window as the country moves through the remaining months of the year. Even with fewer expected systems compared to peak storm season, one strong cyclone can still bring flooding, landslides, power interruptions, and transport delays.

For the public, the reminder is simple: storm activity may slow down, but preparedness should not. Residents are urged to keep monitoring PAGASA updates, especially in areas prone to flooding, landslides, and coastal hazards.
