P9.7-M shabu seized in Tacloban City

MANILA – Police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents seized PHP9.7 million worth of shabu from a drug suspect in Tacloban City on Wednesday night.

In a statement Thursday, PDEA said the suspect, alias Budoy, was arrested by members of the Tacloban City Police Station and the PDEA-8 Tacloban City Office in a buy-bust in Barangay 25, Magsaysay Boulevard at about 10:22 p.m.

The suspect yielded 1.43 kg. of shabu, a 9mm pistol and a magazine loaded with four live ammunition.

The suspect is detained at the local police station and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 (illegal possession of firearms and ammunition), and violation of the election gun ban. (PNA)
