P71-M aid to benefit 17K Ilocos Norte residents

LAOAG CITY – Over 17,000 residents in Ilocos Norte are set to receive cash aid worth PHP71 million under the government’s Ayuda Para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP).

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is expected to lead the aid distribution on Wednesday, with 10,000 beneficiaries from District 1 receiving assistance at the Laoag City Centennial Arena and 7,000 beneficiaries from District 2 receiving aid at the Mariano Marcos State University gymnatorium.

Each beneficiary will receive between PHP3,000 and PHP5,000, depending on their financial situation. The aid is intended to help alleviate poverty and support struggling families.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is overseeing the distribution of the aid, which is part of the government’s efforts to address poverty and inequality.
