P30.6-M worth of shabu seized in Mandaue anti-drug operation

MANILA – Authorities arrested a 28-year-old suspect and confiscated suspected shabu worth PHP30.6 million in a joint anti-drug operation conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Mandaue City, Cebu.

In a statement released Sunday, PDEA identified the suspect as “Kent,” a resident of Barangay Pasil, Cebu City.

He was arrested during a buy-bust in Logarta Street, Subangdaku, Mandaue City, at 7:38 p.m. Friday.

The operation resulted in the seizure of nine packs of suspected shabu weighing approximately 4.5 kilos, with an estimated street value of PHP30.6 million.

The confiscated drugs have been turned over to the PNP Regional Forensic Unit for chemical analysis and proper handling.

The suspect is detained at the Mandaue City Police Station and faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. (PNA)
