Over P74-M narcotics seized across C. Luzon

MANILA – The Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 seized over PHP74 million worth of illegal drugs in 910 anti-drug operations across the region from October 1 to November 25 this year.

In a statement Wednesday, PRO 3 Director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said 1, 365 suspects were arrested and nearly 5 kg. of shabu, 10.8 kg. of marijuana, 2.6 kg. of kush (high-grade marijuana) seized.

In the campaign against loose firearms ahead of next year’s midterm polls, Maranan said police have confiscated 89 firearms.

Meanwhile, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) arrested 69 individuals in 40 anti-drug operations during the past 24 hours, from 6 a.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Police officers in the region have also confiscated 389.84 grams of shabu, 18.47 grams of marijuana and 9 ml. of marijuana oil, with a total estimated street value of PHP2.67 million, according to NCRPO acting chief Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin.

Efforts against illegal gambling, meanwhile, resulted in the arrest of 86 individuals while nine cases have been filed.

Metro Manila cops also apprehended 20 most wanted persons and 30 other wanted persons while 6, 859 violators of local ordinance were fined PHP1.6 million during the period, Aberin said.

The five districts covered by the NCRPO are the Manila Police District, Quezon City Police District, Northern Police District, Southern Police District and Eastern Police District. (PNA)
