A total of 2, 093 parents and guardians of senior high school students in Navotas have been granted temporary livelihood opportunities under the Department of Labor and Employment’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program. As beneficiaries of TUPAD’s Tulong Eskwela Program (TEP-AKAP), they began work on November 7.
Under the program, the beneficiaries will help maintain cleanliness and order around local schools for a period of 10 days. This initiative supports both community upkeep and provides financial relief to low-income households in Navotas.
The TEP-AKAP program is part of TUPAD’s efforts to offer short-term employment to low-income families, particularly those affected by the pandemic. The program focuses on providing supplementary income to households with senior high school students from minimum wage or low-income backgrounds.
This local government effort in collaboration with DOLE aims to ease financial pressures on disadvantaged families while supporting public school environments.
