More than 16, 000 families in Pangasinan province were affected by Super Typhoon Pepito, which battered the region over the weekend.
Local government units have distributed relief aid, including food packs, to the affected families. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has also prepositioned relief supplies to support the ongoing relief efforts.
While most evacuees have returned to their homes, some areas, particularly in Dagupan City, remain flooded. The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported damage to houses and infrastructure, including roads and bridges.
The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) are assessing the impact of the typhoon on the agricultural and fisheries sectors and are providing support to affected farmers and fisherfolk.
Despite the challenges posed by the typhoon, no casualties have been reported in the province. However, authorities continue to monitor the situation, especially in areas prone to flooding and landslides.
