Northern Mindanao has emerged as the top-performing region in implementing the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP), the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) announced on Monday.
LTFRB-10 Regional Director Abosamen Matuan credited the recognition to the region’s 100 percent compliance and coordination with local government units (LGUs) in enforcing the LPTRP under the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program. “Among their best tools in achieving such recognition is the good relationship and coordination with LGUs, especially local executives, transport cooperatives, corporations, and other stakeholders,” Matuan said.
The LPTRP aims to establish systematic and modernized transport routes nationwide to improve public transportation efficiency and accessibility.
Meanwhile, the Land Transportation Office (LTO)-10 also reported notable achievements, having surpassed targets in key programs this year. LTO-10 Regional Director Nelson Manaloto shared that from January to October, the agency conducted 58 outreach activities for the theoretical driving course, benefiting 10,011 individuals and generating over PHP10 million in revenue.
From January to November, LTO-10 processed 574,120 vehicle registrations and issued 265,973 licenses and permits. It also recorded 29,989 traffic apprehensions, exceeding its target of 28,000.
Manaloto further highlighted the agency’s significant revenue increase, reporting collections exceeding PHP1 billion for the year.
