By Xander Ledesma

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has announced scheduled power outages in several parts of Cebu province from November 25 to December 1 due to ongoing maintenance activities.

In an advisory, the NGCP stated that the outages would impact consumers within the service areas of Cebu Electric Cooperative (Cebeco) 1 and 3.

On November 30, there will be a power interruption in Cebeco 1 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. to facilitate repairs at the Samboan Substation, which will affect the 69KV Line of the Samboan-Ginatilan Feeder.

Cebeco 3 will experience a power outage on December 1, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Cebeco 1 serves the city of Carcar and 17 municipalities in the southern part of Cebu province, while Cebeco 3 covers the municipalities of Aloguinsan, Asturias, and the city of Toledo, as well as several villages in Cebu City, Talisay, and Minglanilla.

The NGCP further explained that the power interruption is necessary to replace electric poles, line insulators, and hardware along the Calong Calong-Asturias 69KV line.
