Bus company to implement fuel-saving measures amid oil price hike
A bus company will implement fuel-saving measures due to rising diesel prices. Air-conditioning will be turned on only five minutes before departure, and engines and AC units will be shut off during stopovers.
Management said the steps are necessary to sustain operations amid a reported ₱15 per liter diesel increase and to avoid immediate fare hikes. Passenger safety and service quality will remain priorities.
Meanwhile, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said it is considering a possible fare increase due to expected further oil price hikes. Jam Victorio
Support assured for family of OFW killed ib Israel conflict
Government agencies assured continued support to the family of an OFW who died in the Israel conflict.
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and the local government of Basista are facilitating benefits and repatriation of Mary Ann De Vera’s remains. Coordination with the Philippine Embassy in Israel is ongoing, including assistance for her husband and sibling.
De Vera, a caregiver from Pangasinan, was killed by a missile strike in Tel Aviv on February 28 while helping her employer to a bomb shelter. Support will continue until her remains are returned and all aid is delivered. Aarin Navelgas
Dagupan motorists hit by rising fuel prices; strike possible
Motorists in Dagupan City are struggling with rising fuel prices triggered by tensions in the Middle East and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
Gasoline prices reportedly rose by ₱6 per liter, diesel by ₱12, and kerosene by ₱13 in the world market since the conflict began. Local oil firms recently raised pump prices by as much as ₱1.90 per liter.

Stolen motocycke recovered  in San Jacinto, sold for P1,000
A motorcycle stolen in Alaminos City was recovered in San Jacinto after the suspect attempted to sell it for ₱1,000 on March 3, 2026.
The victim, a delivery rider, reported the theft on February 28, along with missing personal belongings. Police later caught the 20-year-old stay-in helper in possession of the motorcycle.

Illegal dumping at Mapandan MRF again flagged
Authorities are again addressing illegal dumping at the Material Recovery Facility in Barangay Baloling, Mapandan, after the site was re-filled with trash despite prior cleanups and fencing.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Pangasinan continues to enhance its fire safety capability through new equipment purchases and personnel training.
