Measures proposed to stop the rampant stoning incidents
A surprise drug testing, a purok-wide curfew, and the formation of a task force were among the measures proposed during a consultation made by local officials of Mangaldan with residents of Purok 4 in Barangay Embarcadero, who are complaining about rampant stoning of their houses at night by unidentified wayward youngsters, believed to be under the influence of illegal drugs.
A purok-wide curfew from 10 p.m. to 4:00 a. m. daily will be enforced to restrict the movements of residents who might be involved in the stoning of houses at night. There is also a plan to conduct a surprise drug test among the youth in the purok as there is a strong suspicion that this kind of unlawful activity is the handiwork of people high on drugs.
A task force is set to be formed, whose members will be tasked to patrol the purok at night. At the same time, the barangay council is mulling over the installation of CCTVs so that the perpetrators can be identified and arrested. Jam Victorio

Impostors selling unauthorized gas regulators
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial office warned the public against certain individuals whose modus is going house to house, pretending that they are authorized to inspect the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders and gas stoves of households,
DTI said there are times that these individuals pose as personnel of DTI, Department of Energy (DOE), or the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and are using fraudulent identification cards of these agencies in order to win the confidence of the public. After their so-called inspection, they offer alleged regulators that they said are “anti-leak” or are “safety devices” that are not, however, registered and or unauthorized, without any PS Mark or ICC sticker.
DTI called on the public to buy only LPG accessories from authorized dealers to ensure the safety of their households from possible fires. Joana de Vera
