Negros Oriental police apprehended over 1, 000 individuals during a three-day anti-crime operation. The operation, conducted from November 15 to 17, 2024, targeted illegal drugs, illegal gambling, loose firearms, and other criminal activities.
During the operation, authorities arrested 14 individuals in connection with 14 anti-drug operations, seizing 45.14 grams of shabu valued at PHP 307, 000. Additionally, 38 individuals were arrested in 19 anti-illegal gambling operations, with PHP 3, 553 in bet money confiscated.
The campaign against wanted persons led to the arrest of five “most wanted” individuals and 49 others in 54 operations. Efforts to address loose firearms resulted in the surrender or confiscation of 44 firearms. Under Oplan Katok, an initiative to promote responsible gun ownership, two firearms were deposited for safekeeping.
Furthermore, 951 individuals were apprehended for various ordinance violations across towns and cities in Negros Oriental. The operation was part of the Philippine National Police’s broader effort to combat crime and ensure public safety.
