NCR wage board to hold public hearing for domestic workers

MANILA – The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) – National Capital Region (NCR) is set to hold a public hearing for domestic workers later this month.

In a public notice on Thursday, the NCR wage board said the meeting would be held at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) Building in Pasay City on November 25 and tackle the proposed minimum wage adjustment for “kasambahays” in Metro Manila.

“Notice is hereby given to the public that the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – RTWPB-NCR will conduct a public hearing/consultation on the minimum wage adjustment for domestic workers/kasambahay,” it said.

At the same time, the RTWPB-NCR urged stakeholders to participate in the discussions to be able to share their positions on the proposal.

“We invite the public to participate in the public hearing on the proposed minimum wage adjustment for domestic workers in NCR. Your input is valuable,” the NCR wage board added.

Those who will not be able to attend the one-day event may submit their respective position papers from November 8 to 21.

“They may submit position papers at the 2nd Floor, DY International Building, San Marcelino corner General Malvar Streets, Malate, Manila; or through email address at [email protected],” it said.

The last wage order for domestic workers in the NCR took effect on January 3, 2024, setting their minimum wage at PHP 6, 500. (PNA)
