MANILA – In preparation for the May 12, 2025 National and Local Elections and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Parliamentary Elections, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) is set to conduct a nationwide voter education roadshow Monday.
The roadshow will include live demonstrations of the automated counting machine (ACM), allowing voters to familiarize themselves with the new technology.
In a social media post, the poll body announced that both newly registered and old voters will have the opportunity to experience how to use the ACM.
“The goal of the roadshow is to introduce the automated counting machine to Filipino voters, to ensure they understand how to properly use the machine, and to reinforce the importance of exercising their right and responsibility to vote,” the Comelec said.
For a full list of roadshow venues, the public is encouraged to visit the official Comelec Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/share/1AuX7QH1KC/?mibextid=WC7FNe.
The roadshow will run until January 30, 2025.
In a related development, Comelec Chair George Garcia shared during a briefing on Friday that the country currently has 68.6 million registered voters, a figure slightly below the projected 70 million. (PNA)
