Muntinlupa launches sustainable alternatives for sari-sari store owners

The Muntinlupa City Government, in collaboration with Greenpeace Philippines and RIPPLEx, launched the Kuhá sa Tingi program on November 5 at the Muntinlupa City Hall. The initiative aims to provide affordable, eco-friendly alternatives to products commonly sold in sachets or single-use plastics, promoting sustainability within the local community.

As part of the program, 25 sari-sari store owners from Muntinlupa received free starter kits containing 4 liters each of fabric softener, dishwashing liquid, multi-surface cleaner, and liquid detergent. These products are designed to help reduce plastic waste while offering more affordable options to consumers.

The Kuhá sa Tingi program encourages Muntinlupa residents and store owners to shift towards zero-waste alternatives. By promoting these sustainable practices, the program aims to address the  growing issue of plastic pollution and foster a cleaner, healthier environment. Through this initiative, the city hopes to inspire broader community participation in sustainable consumption.
