Muntinlupa hosts LGBTQ Summit 2024

Muntinlupa City’s LGBTQ Summit 2024 was held on December 14 at South Park Center in Alabang, themed “Reflect, Empower, Unite.” Organized by the Muntinlupa Gender and Development (GAD) Office, the event underscored the city’s commitment to promoting gender equality and inclusivity.

The summit aimed to raise awareness about the rights and responsibilities of the LGBTQ+ community within Muntinlupa. Ms. Ging Cristobal delivered a presentation focusing on empowerment and support for the sector, while Ms. Yeng Gatchalian provided insights on Psychological First Aid to enhance mental well-being.

In June 2024, Muntinlupa City announced plans to establish a “Rainbow Desk” at the GAD Office to address concerns and needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. This initiative is part of the city’s efforts to ensure inclusivity and equality across all sectors. 

The Bahaghari Advisory Council, comprising members from various sectors, has been instrumental in discussing and implementing these initiatives. Their collaborative efforts aim to create a supportive environment for the LGBTQIA+ community in Muntinlupa.
