Multiple weather systems forecast rains across the Philippines

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a forecast indicating that several weather systems will bring rainfall to various regions of the Philippines. These systems include the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), northeasterly windflow, and easterlies.

The ITCZ is expected to produce scattered rains and thunderstorms over southern Mindanao, specifically affecting Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Sarangani, South Cotabato, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

In the northern regions of Luzon, the northeasterly windflow will contribute to cloudy skies and isolated moderate rains in Batanes, Cagayan (including the Babuyan Islands), Apayao, Isabela, and Aurora. PAGASA has cautioned that moderate to heavy rainfall in these areas may lead to flash floods and landslides.

The remaining parts of the country will experience the influence of easterlies, resulting in isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Wind conditions are anticipated to be moderate to strong across Northern Luzon, leading to moderate to rough coastal waters. In other areas, winds will be light to moderate, with slight to moderate sea conditions.

As of 2:00 AM, PAGASA has reported no low-pressure areas that indicate potential tropical cyclone development.
