Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) marked its 10th anniversary by giving back to Filipino players through community celebrations, free food, and special activities, recognizing the Philippines’ role in the game’s rise as a global esports powerhouse. Developer Moonton Games launched its ALL IN anniversary campaign at Market! Market! in Bonifacio Global City from October 8 to 11, featuring the #LibreNiMLBB food giveaway, fan activities, merchandise, and appearances by gaming personalities. A mobile anniversary truck also traveled across Metro Manila to bring the celebrations closer to fans. Since its 2016 launch, MLBB has recorded more than 1.5 billion installations and 110 million monthly active users worldwide, according to Moonton.
Beyond the anniversary festivities, Moonton highlighted its commitment to supporting Filipino communities, including a reported partnership with the GMA Kapuso Foundation for future disaster relief efforts. The company has increasingly expanded its activities beyond online gaming, organizing in-person events and community initiatives to maintain connections with longtime players while introducing MLBB to younger audiences. Jay Wang, Moonton’s head of publishing in the Philippines, credited Filipino players, creators, and esports fans for helping shape the game’s success over the past decade.
Meanwhile, competition intensified in the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 18 playoffs on October 21, with ONIC Philippines defeating TNC Pro Team, 3-2, and Aurora Gaming PH overcoming Smart Omega by the same score at the PhilSports Arena. ONIC advanced to face Team Falcons PH, while Aurora secured a showdown against Team Liquid PH in the upper bracket semifinals. The two closely contested series highlighted the competitive strength of the Philippine MLBB scene as teams battle for the league championship and qualification to the upcoming M8 World Championship.
