MMDA, MMDRRMC meet on Oplan Metro Yakal Plus updates

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Metro Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MMDRRMC) convened on November 22 to discuss updates to the Oplan Metro Yakal Plus.

MMDA Chairman and MMDRRMC Chairperson Atty. Don Artes explained that Oplan Metro Yakal Plus is a “comprehensive contingency plan that outlines protocols and procedures for responding to The Big One in Metro Manila.”

The meeting was chaired by MMDRRMC Vice-Chairperson and Office of Civil Defense-NCR Regional Director George Keyser, along with MMDA Public Safety Division head Atty. Crisanto Saruca Jr.

Atty. Saruca also noted that there are plans to review the Metropolitan Manila Earthquake Impact Reduction Study (MMEIRS) and to incorporate tsunami risks into the updated assessment.
