Missing Fisherman Found Safe Near Pujada Island

A missing fisherman, identified as Bruce Torreta Gevella, 18 years old, from Purok San Pedro, Barangay Tamisan, was reported safe and is now in the custody of the Coast Guard sub-station in Pujada Island.

Gevella, who had gone missing earlier while fishing aboard his yellow pump boat, was last seen wearing a red jacket. Authorities were alerted to his disappearance, prompting a search and rescue operation led by the Coast Guard Davao Oriental.

As of 10:17 PM, the Coast Guard confirmed that Gevella was found and brought to safety. Further details about his condition and the circumstances leading to his rescue have yet to be disclosed.

The Coast Guard commended the cooperation of local fishermen and the community in aiding their efforts. Residents are reminded to prioritize safety while at sea and to remain vigilant about changing weather conditions.
