MisOcc summit to honor health, nutrition workers

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) of Misamis Occidental will recognize the essential roles of barangay health workers and barangay nutrition scholars in promoting community health at the upcoming Health Providers Summit in Oroquieta City.

The summit, scheduled November 6, is part of Misamis Occidental’s monthlong 95th founding anniversary celebration.

IPHO chief Dr. Holly Tago said the event aims to celebrate the workers as health educators, client guides, service providers, and community organizers in implementing the government’s Universal Health Care initiatives.

“These individuals are instrumental in educating communities about good health practices and ensuring community access to primary health services,” Tago said.

The event will also emphasize the Department of Health’s “Purok Kalusugan” (subcommunity health) campaign, which focuses on strengthening health services at the grassroots level.

Misamis Occidental’s initiative aligns with the program that highlights the role of barangay health teams in bringing essential services to residents throughout the province. (PNA)
