Mimaropa cops seize P101-M illegal drugs, nab 475 in 2024

MANILA – The Police Regional Office (PRO) 4B (Mimaropa) seized over 15.39 kg. of illegal drugs worth PHP101.6 million in 2024.

In a statement Friday, PRO4B chief Brig. Gen. Roger Quesada said this amount of contraband was seized in 402 operations, which also resulted in the arrest of 475 suspects.

Last year’s haul was higher than the 3.04 kg. of illegal drugs worth PHP8.57 million seized in 339 operations in the region in 2023.

On the first 29 days of 2025, Quesada said 31 anti-drug operations led to the arrest of 35 suspects and the seizure of nearly PHP1 million worth of shabu.

“These accomplishments reflect the tireless dedication of our operatives and our strong partnerships with various PNP (Philippine National Police) units in keeping our communities safe,” Quesada said.

He commended the dedication of law enforcement personnel and reaffirmed PRO Mimaropa’s commitment to its intensified anti-drug campaign.

“We are continuously refining our enforcement strategies, increasing community engagement, and utilizing advanced technology to strengthen our anti-drug operations,” Quesda said.

The region is composed of the provinces of Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan. (PNA)
