Milka Romero leads 1-Pacman Party-list’s community outreach in Cebu City

By Xander Ledesma

Milka Romero, lead nominee for the 1-Pacman Party List, led an outreach event on Sunday, November 10, at the Lorega San Miguel gymnasium in Cebu City. The initiative aimed to support marginalized communities by providing essential goods, medical assistance, and educational materials to local residents.

The event offered free medical check-ups, vitamins, medications, and school supplies for underprivileged children. Community-building activities, including a mini-health fair and a livelihood skills workshop, were also held to help locals improve their daily lives.

Before her political career, Romero was involved in charitable organizations focused on health, education, and community empowerment, which are key areas of her platform. Her outreach event targeted Lorega San Miguel, a densely populated and economically disadvantaged neighborhood in Cebu City.

The 1-Pacman Party List, founded in 2010, advocates for marginalized populations, including workers, farmers, and small business owners. Under Romero’s leadership, the party has expanded its outreach in the Central and Eastern Visayas regions, focusing on healthcare, education, and affordable housing.

Lorega San Miguel faces economic challenges, including poverty, overcrowded housing, and limited access to social services. Many residents work in low-paying jobs without formal employment benefits, leaving the community vulnerable to health and education issues.

Romero’s focus on marginalized communities aligns with the role of party-list representatives in advancing legislation for underserved sectors, including labor rights, social welfare, and policies for inclusive development. With 1-Pacman’s support, Romero aims to influence policy decisions to improve the lives of vulnerable communities.
