During a press conference, Cebu City Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia described the 2025 Sinulog Grand Parade, which drew over four million attendees to honor the Santo NiƱo as the “biggest, grandest, and liveliest” Sinulog to date. He highlighted the smooth execution of the parade, crediting government agencies, security forces, and volunteers for ensuring the safety of participants and spectators. Despite minor logistical challenges, no significant incidents were reported.

The Sinulog Festival, which originated in the 1980s as a religious procession in honor of the Santo NiƱo, has grown into a major event blending faith, culture, and community. Its expansion has brought economic benefits to Cebu, with local businesses reporting increased activity during the festival.

Authorities implemented enhanced crowd control measures this year, addressing previous concerns over overcrowding and traffic congestion. Local vendors and establishments along the parade route also experienced a surge in activity as attendees supported the city’s economy.

Mayor Garcia noted that the continued growth of Sinulog highlights the need for sustainable and innovative approaches to ensure its future success. He expressed a commitment to enhancing the festival’s organization while maintaining its cultural and religious significance.
