Marawi City and World Vision Philippines have celebrated the successful implementation of the Urban Child Protection and Participation Project (UCPP), a collaborative effort aimed at protecting children in the city.
The project, which focused on community-based and school-based interventions, has made significant strides in advancing child protection in Marawi, particularly in the aftermath of the 2017 siege and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Both parties expressed gratitude for their partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing their efforts to safeguard the well-being of children in the city.
In a separate initiative, the Ministry of Social Services and Development in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MSSD-BARMM) facilitated a reunion between 81 children and their parents who are incarcerated at the Marawi City Jail. This event, held during Bangsamoro Children’s Month, aimed to strengthen family bonds and provide support to the children.
