Manila’s vulnerable sector to get allowance until December 26

MANILA – Members of the vulnerable sector in the city of Manila will be receiving their financial aid until the last week of December.

In a statement on Monday, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna said the local government will be handing out allowances for persons with disability (PWD) and minors with disability (MWD) until December 26.

The payout began on December 6 under Ordinance 8991, which states each beneficiary is entitled to PHP3,000, or PHP500 monthly for the second half of 2024.

Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) chief Re Fugoso said beneficiaries may inquire with their barangays or visit the social media sites of the MDSW or the Manila Public Information Office.

Help desks have also been set up at payout venues to give information on schedule of distributions for every village and district.

Beneficiaries who will fail to show up in their villages may get their allowances at the city hall until December 31.

Claimants are advised to bring their original and photocopied PWD or solo parent ID cards and barangay certificates.

Manila has 16, 374 solo parents, 5618 MWD and 31, 343 PWD. (PNA)
