Manila LGU distributes emergency shelter aid to Tondo fire victims

The City of Manila, in coordination with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), provided emergency shelter assistance to families affected by a fire in Brgy. 105, Aroma, Tondo. On November 11, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan joined DHSUD Undersecretary Randy Escolango and NCR Regional Director Norman Jacinto Doral for the first phase of the distribution under the Integrated Disaster Shelter Assistance Program.

A total of 1, 014 families received 30, 000 pesos each from DHSUD, following the complete destruction of their homes in the fire on September 14. Previously, the Manila local government had provided 10, 000 pesos in financial aid and other in-kind donations to the victims on September 17.
