LINGAYEN, PANGASINAN – Mayor Jeremy Agerico “Doc Ming” Rosario of Manaoag was officially installed as the new president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) – Pangasinan Chapter during a turnover ceremony held at the Urduja House here on November 4.
Rosario succeeded Lingayen Mayor Leopoldo “Pol” Bataoil, who had served as the LMP-Pangasinan Chapter president for the past five years.
The formal transition of leadership was led by Governor Ramon “Mon-mon” Guico III, and was attended by key officials, including LMP National President Atty. Mary Ann De Vera, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Director Virgilio Sison, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer in Lingayen Gabriel Cornel, and DILG Cluster Leader II Melinda Buada.
In his speech, Mayor Rosario emphasized the crucial role of unity and collective support in achieving success. “There is no successful leader without the support of the people,” he remarked, expressing his commitment to fulfill his new responsibilities with the help of fellow local officials and constituents.
Mayor Bataoil, who is set to run for a congressional seat in the second district of Pangasinan in the upcoming elections, thanked the Governor and other provincial leaders, including LMP National President Mayor JB Bernos, for their trust and support during his term.
“May I take this opportunity to thank the Governor and other leaders of our province, including the national president, Mayor JB Bernos, for the confidence, trust, and assistance extended to me,” he said.
Both Governor Guico and Mayor Bataoil expressed their full backing for Mayor Rosario’s leadership, voicing confidence that he would continue the successful initiatives started during Mayor Bataoil’s tenure as LMP president.
