The Laguna Industrial Peace Council, Inc. (LIPCI), in coordination with City Tripartite Industrial Peace Councils (CTIPC) from BiƱan, Cabuyao, Calamba, San Pedro, and Santa Rosa, conducted relief operations on Wednesday for 400 families affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine in Laguna.

Marjorie Arcebuche, Senior Labor and Employment Officer of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Laguna Provincial Office, said the relief drive, known as “Project Damayan sa Laguna,” was a collaborative effort by labor groups, company management, and the Laguna provincial government to support families impacted by the storm. Relief packages were distributed to 200 families in Barangay Dos, Calamba City, and 200 families from Barangay Landayan, BiƱan City, who were temporarily housed in Barangay Santo Domingo due to flooding.

Arcebuche noted that the relief operations demonstrated solidarity between labor organizations, the management sector, and local government. She emphasized the quick mobilization of resources, adding that the groups’ rapid response reflects the importance of community collaboration in addressing the needs of those affected by natural disasters.
