Malabon’s PDAO spearheads Disability Summit 2024

The Malaban city government organized the Disability Summit 2024 that brought together various organizations of persons with disabilities (OPWDs) from NCR and Malabon on November 21. Speakers discussed important issues for PWDs such as disability pensions, the implementation of RA 11228, and updated accessibility standards.

In her welcome address, Mayor Jeannie Sandoval underscored the importance of amplifying the voices of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in shaping a more inclusive and equitable community. 

The summit, was organized by the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) of Malabon City, led by OIC Markus Operiano, in collaboration with the Federation of Persons with Disabilities (FPWD) under the leadership of Ms. Ella Onnagan, the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) led by Director Glenda Relova, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
