Malabon’s CSWDD, CMU support VAW

The City Government of Malabon, led by the City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWDD) under Ms. Lorelie Soriano, participated in the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), a campaign aimed at raising awareness and promoting respect for women’s rights.

Over 1,000 students from the City of Malabon University (CMU) took part in a successful Fun Run on November 30, which started at City Hall and ended at the Malabon Sports Complex in Barangay Hulong Duhat. Upon reaching the finish line, a short program was held where Mayor Jeannie Sandoval expressed her support. Mayor Sandoval and Councilor Gerry Bernardo also led the raffle and awarded prizes to the finishers.

The campaign’s goal is to raise awareness about violence against women, enhance their protection, and improve their position in society. It also highlights the community’s unity in opposing violence and strengthening women’s rights.

The CSWDD collaborated with the PSTMO and MCAT, led by Rtd. PCol. Reynaldo Medina Jr., MDRRMO, PNP, and TMRU, to ensure the safety and security of all participants.
