Malabon receives ‘Transformative Innovation’ Award for Tara, Basa! program

The City Government of Malabon was awarded the ‘Transformative Innovation’ Award by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on December 18 during the Social Technology Expo 2024 at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel in Quezon City.

The recognition was given for the implementation of the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program, which improved educational outcomes for the city’s youth. Ms. Lorelie Soriano, OIC of the City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWDD), and Ms. Chernolle Dela Cruz, Tara Basa Focal Person, accepted the award on behalf of the city.

The Transformative Innovation Award acknowledges exemplary creativity and effectiveness in piloting programs that address social challenges.
