Malabon CSWDD assesses fire incidents

Malabon City’s Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWDD) assessed residents affected by two separate fires on January 1, 2025, in Barangays Flores and Dampalit. In Barangay Flores, two families comprising seven individuals were impacted, while in Barangay Dampalit, one family of seven was affected. The local government has provided immediate assistance and support to these residents.

The fire in Barangay Flores involved a commercial property on Naval Street, reaching the third alarm before being controlled. In Barangay Dampalit, a residential area on Don Basillo Street was affected, with the fire reaching the first alarm. Both incidents are under investigation by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) to determine their causes.

Mayor Jeannie Sandoval emphasized the city’s commitment to supporting affected families and implementing measures to prevent future incidents. The CSWDD continues to coordinate with relevant agencies to ensure the well-being of the displaced individuals.
