Malabon City Library celebrates LIS Month and National Book Week

In celebration of Library and Information Services (LIS) Month and National Book Week, the Malabon City Library on November 25 successfully hosted a series of engaging activities that underscored the value of reading and knowledge growth.

A highlight of the event was Search “N” Snap: Malabon Ahon Flaglet, where participants eagerly explored the library to find hidden flaglets, utilizing the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system. This activity helped participants learn the correct way to locate and organize books, an essential skill for navigating the library effectively. The event also featured a film screening that entertained and educated students from elementary through college.

LIS Month and National Book Week serve as a special time to recognize the vital role libraries and librarians play in promoting education and the dissemination of knowledge. The celebration also highlights the importance of modern information technologies and the valuable services libraries provide to our community.

These activities were organized by the Malabon City Library, led by OIC Nova F. Lubong, RL, with the full support of Mayor Jeannie Sandoval and the Malabon City Government.
