Local authorities in Batangas secure sea turtle eggs found in Olo-Olo mangrove forest

By Matthew Go

The local government of Lobo, Batangas, is overseeing the protection of sea turtle eggs discovered along the coast of the Olo-Olo Mangrove Forest.

Reports indicate that members of the Olo-Olo Sea Side Workers Association spotted a sea turtle digging a nesting site in the sand. The organization immediately informed the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) and the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) in Lipa, who responded swiftly to the scene.

After the turtle laid its eggs, officials relocated the eggs to a higher location to protect them from potential damage caused by high tides.
