Light rain expected in parts of the Philippines

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecast light rain for several areas of the Philippines on Thursday, attributed to the northeasterly windflow.

Specifically, Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and Aurora are expected to experience light rain.

The northeasterly windflow affecting northern Luzon will also bring isolated light rains to the Ilocos Region and the remaining areas of the Cordillera Administrative Region.

PAGASA reports that the rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the influence of easterlies.

The agency has issued a warning regarding the potential for severe thunderstorms, which could lead to flash floods and landslides.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are expected to continue across northern Luzon. In other areas, winds will be light to moderate, with slight to moderate sea conditions.

As of 2:00 AM, PAGASA has not detected any low-pressure areas that could develop into tropical cyclones.
