MANILA – Fuel surcharge or the extra fee that airlines may collect in addition to the base fare to cover the costs incurred from the volatility of fuel, stays at Level 4 for November, the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) has announced.
At Level 4, the fuel surcharge will range from PhP 117 to PhP 342 for domestic flights, and PhP 385.70 to PhP 2, 867.82 for international flights depending on the distance.
In an advisory on Tuesday, CAB said airlines wishing to impose or collect fuel surcharge must file their application with the Office of the Executive Director on or before the effectivity period.
The applicable conversion rate is USD1 is to PhP 56.09.
In a statement, budget carrier AirAsia Philippines said the unchanged fuel surcharge level could further sustain the people’s appetite for travel. (PNA)
