Las Piñas flag-raising ceremony honors victims of typhoon Kristine

Las Piñas City held a flag-raising ceremony at the City Hall on November 4, spearheaded by Vice Mayor April Aguilar, in commemoration of the National Day of Mourning, as declared by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. through Proclamation No. 728.

The ceremony featured the national flag flown at half-mast, a symbol of respect and solidarity for the families and loved ones of those who tragically lost their lives due to the devastation caused by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

City government officials and employees gathered to pay tribute to the victims, reflecting on the profound impact of the storm on the community. The flag remained at half-mast from sunrise to sunset, in accordance with Republic Act 8941, serving as a reminder of the strength and unity of the Filipino people in the face of adversity.

Vice Mayor Aguilar offered her heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and reaffirmed the city’s commitment to assisting in recovery and rebuilding efforts.
