The entire slate of Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano clinched all 24 seats in the Taguig City Council following the 2025 midterm elections, solidifying her administration’s control over the local legislature.
Cayetano’s reelection bid under the Nacionalista Party was paired with Vice Mayor Arvin Ian Alit, who also secured another term in office. All winning councilors ran under the same party.
The new City Council composition includes representatives from barangays formerly part of Makati, collectively known as the Enlisted Men’s Barrios (EMBO). This election marks the first time that leaders from these barangays will sit as members of the Taguig City Council.
Among the winners from EMBO are Kim Manzo Abbang, Punong Barangay of Pembo, and Sammy Cruz, Punong Barangay of Barangay Rizal. Iony De Lara-Bes of Barangay West Rembo, spouse of Punong Barangay Leo Bes, also secured a council seat.
Despite the complete council sweep, Cayetano received noticeably fewer votes in the EMBO areas compared to her vote share in the rest of Taguig.
In District 1, the winning councilors are Darwin Icay, Allan Paul Cruz, Jimmy Labampa, Sammy Cruz, Joy Panga-Cruz, Marcelino Tikboy, Gamie San Pedro, Kim Manzo Abbang, Carlito Ogalinola, Commissioner Aquino, Ferdie Bro Santos, and Totong Mañosca.
In District 2, the elected councilors are Gigi Bermas, Nicky Supan, Ivie Dizon, Danny Castro, Jomil Serna, Alex Penolio, Bing Villamor, Gen Pau-Tin, Ed Prado, Edgar Baptista, Iony De Lara-Bes, and Marisse Balina-Eron.
Cayetano allies also secured both congressional seats in Taguig. In the 1st District, Ading Cruz won with 118,205 votes, defeating former mayor and congressman Lino Cayetano. In the 2nd District, Jorge Bocobo prevailed over incumbent Congresswoman Pammy Zamora, whose campaign was supported by Makati Mayor Abby Binay.
