La Union’s ‘Pasko sa Kapitolyo’ provides gifts to 400 children

Around 400 children from various parts of La Union received stuffed toys and loot bags during the Paskuhan sa Kapitolyo 2024 event held on December 11 at the La Union Provincial Capitol Grounds.

The initiative, led by the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), aimed to distribute gifts as part of the province’s holiday activities. Each loot bag contained snacks, candies, small toys, and school supplies.

Governor Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David emphasized the importance of sharing during the Christmas season, stating that the initiative reflects the provincial government’s efforts to include everyone in the celebrations.

“Ang saya ng Pasko ay mas nadarama kapag tayo’y nagbibigay at nagbabahagi ng saya sa bawat isa, lalo na sa ating mga kabataan. Sa simpleng paraan, nadarama nila na sila ay bahagi ng ating pamilya sa La Union,” Ortega-David said.

Parents of the beneficiaries, like Chris Dirk Dahiroc, expressed appreciation for the program, noting its impact on their children, especially during the holidays.

The event included family-oriented activities such as a children’s carnival, holiday displays, and eco-friendly decorations. The Paskuhan sa Kapitolyo is open daily from 6 p.m. to midnight until December 31, 2024.

This year’s event is expected to exceed last year’s attendance of 260,719 visitors, reflecting its growing participation.
