MANILA – Rains will continue to prevail over Mindanao and several areas in Northern Luzon on Tuesday, the weather bureau said.
The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms across the island.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned that moderate to heavy rains could result in flash floods or landslides.
The northeast monsoon (amihan) affecting Northern Luzon will cause rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora, while isolated light rains are expected over Ilocos Region.
Isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms will continue to prevail over the rest of the archipelago.
Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas are forecast across Northern Luzon.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over the rest of the country, PAGASA said.
Meanwhile, PAGASA forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said no tropical cyclone and low pressure area are being monitored inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
He said amihan is expected to affect a larger part of Luzon, including Metro Manila, from Wednesday to Friday. (PNA)
