MANILA – The Visayas, Mindanao, and some areas in Luzon will experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies, the weather bureau said Friday.
Severe thunderstorms, however, could result in flash floods or landslides, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera region, Aurora, and Quezon will experience moderate to heavy rains caused by the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”
Flash floods or landslides are also possible in those areas.
The northeast monsoon will also bring isolated light rains over Metro Manila, Rizal, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.
Meanwhile, strong winds and rough seas will prevail across Northern and Southern Luzon, and the eastern sections of Central Luzon and the Visayas.
Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are forecast in the eastern section of Mindanao and the rest of Luzon.
The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.
PAGASA, meanwhile, said no low-pressure area was monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation. (PNA)
