MANILA – Most parts of the country will continue to experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms, the weather bureau said Thursday.
The southwest monsoon affecting Northern and Central Luzon, however, will bring rains across these areas, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecaster Benison Estareja said.
Scattered rains and thunderstorms will prevail over Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan, while the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Central Luzon will have isolated rain showers.
“The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms,” he said.
The whole archipelago will continue to experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.
Meanwhile, the cyclone or Tropical Storm Maria outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) was last spotted 2,230 km. east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon.
“We do not expect it to enter PAR and it has no direct effect on any part of the country,” Estareja said.
He added that the low pressure area (LPA) dissipated around 2 p.m. Wednesday.
“So as of now, there are no weather disturbances that could affect the country,” he said. (PNA)
