‘Habagat’ to bring rains over Luzon

MANILA – Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected over Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan due to southwest monsoon or “habagat”, the weather bureau reported on Tuesday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on its forecast issued at 4 a.m. warned of possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.

The weather bureau warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms in the abovementioned areas.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to be caused by localized thunderstorms.

Luzon will have light to moderate winds blowing from Southwest to West, and coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind conditions blowing from the Southwest while coastal waters will likewise be slight to moderate. (PNA)
