Guo negative for TB, joins 43 other PDLs in Pasig jail

MANILA – Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo has tested negative for tuberculosis.

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said Monday this is based on the results of Guo’s sputum test conducted by the Quezon City Jail Laboratory.

“Alice Guo was transferred immediately to her assigned cell. She will be sharing the cell with 43 other PDLs,” BJMP spokesperson Jail Supt. Jayrex Bustinera said in a message to reporters.

Guo was diagnosed with an infection in her left lung during a medical examination at the PNP General Hospital before she was transferred to the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory on Monday morning.

In a new order, the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) canceled the hearing for the very urgent motion filed by Guo’s camp for her to remain at the PNP Custodial Center.

RTC Branch 167 Judge Annielyn Medes-Cabelis said the court has received information from the Pasig City Jail that Guo “was already committed” at its female dormitory.

The Pasig court is handling the non-bailable qualified human trafficking complaints filed against Guo and several others filed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) about the raided illegal Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) facility in Bamban. (PNA)
